In order to enrich your life and improve your reading and writing abilities, Shanghai Maritime University will hold “Chinese Classic Recitation Contest (Overseas Students Group)”on Sep 26, 2012.The detailed information about the contest is as follows:
1. Competition Form: Recite Chinese classical poems or articles, by a single student or a group.
2. Forms of the Contest: We give priority to Chinese classical poems or articles. A selection of poems and articles are available on www.shyywz.com, and you may also choose from the Textbook of Chinese Classical Poetry published by Beijing University Press. Please ask teachers for help if you have any questions.
3. Scoring Criteria:
Practiced Recitation 30%
Standard of Mandarin 40%
Recitation Skill and Effect 30%
4. Awards:
Awards & Bonus
First Prize 1 RMB 300
Second Prize 2 RMB 200
Third Prize 3 RMB 100
5.Method of Application: Students, who are interested in the contest, please register at Office 204 (or Office 324 of the Administration Building on the new campus) from the 12th to the 19th of September.
Notes
The student or group that wins the First Prize will have the opportunity, on behalf of Shanghai Maritime University, to participate in the contest named “Shanghai Classic Recitation Contest 2012 (Overseas Students Group)”.

7. Location: Room 202, Foreign Language Building on old campus.
