Mr. Xiaojie ZHANG, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Transport of China, Chairman of IMO Council, visited MTCC-Asia on 6th March 2019. Prof. Yongxing JIN and other MTCC-Asia representatives briefed a series of work accomplished by MTCC-Asia in 2018 and its work plan in 2019 and then ZHANG provided valuable comments and recommendations for the development of MTCC-Asia.
On behalf of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Transport of China, ZHANG appraised the efforts made by Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) and MTCC-Asia in promoting green shipping for global maritime industry during 2018. He also expressed hopes that MTCC-Asia shall continue to innovate in 2019, and play more roles in Asian region to contribute to the IMO’s missions for climate mitigation in the maritime shipping industry.
